Noosa - One of our favourite places to visit all year round.
As part of our "More to Life" series we set out to discover the locals guide to getting the most from our next holiday! Who better to ask than our friends and Monte & Lou stockists Waterlily @noosaswimwear in the heart of buzzing Hastings Street. Owned by sisters Carolyn and Sue their Waterlily store is the home of designer swim and resort wear on the Sunshine Coast.
Carolyn's gorgeous daughter Izzy was happy to let us in on some of the local secrets.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN NOOSA AND WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT IT?
I've been lucky enough to grow up in Noosa QLD. I love the laid back lifestyle and living so close to the beach and the weather is pretty perfect most of the time.
THE BEST COFFEE?
My coffee shop haunts are Vanilla Food in Noosa Junction or 10 Hastings on Hastings Street.
AVOURITE CASUAL CAFE AND FINE DINING CHOICE?
Sushi Yah Man is the best place for casual dining, super good and easy Japanese food. I'd recommend Locale for that special fine dining experience.
THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO VISIT AND WHY?
I'd have to say probably April. The sun's still out but it’s cool enough to spend a day down the beach without overheating and isn’t too busy around town.
FAVOURITE STORES?
Of course Waterlily and Sea Elements are my go to stores for bikinis! I also love Alterior Motif.
BEST PLACE TO SWIM?
Little cove or First Point.
THE MUST-SEE / DO ACTIVITIES LOCALS WOULD RECOMMEND
The coastal walk to Hells Gates, watching the sunset at the Noosa spit or The Noosa lookout, and don't forget to try a chilli coconut margarita at Bistro C!
WHERE TO STAY?
Hastings street has an amazing selection of accomodation if you want to be right in the centre of the action. There's a good choice of cool Airbnb's close enough to the beach but a little out of the busiest area. For a good central boutique style hotel you can't beat 10 Hastings.
FINALLY, ARE YOU A BIKINI OR ONE PIECE GAL? AND WHAT ARE YOUR BEACH BAG ESSENTIALS?
I'm a bikini gal and prefer plain colour to prints. My beach bag essentials would be Sunscreen, a good tanning oil, water bottle, hat and a good book!
